Magento has been shifting the rules and requirements for its Magento Solution Partners Program in an effort to guarantee the high Magento development standards of its Magento Gold, Silver, and Bronze Solution Partners.
Demand for Magento has risen over the years and the unique platform with its abundance of features has made configuring Magento a skill unto itself. In this situation, Magento needs to ensure that there will be Magento Solution Partner quality-worthy results to meet the rising demand. In response, Magento has tightened the requirements to become a Magento Solution Partner, and even moreso for its Magento Gold Solution Partners.
The new requirements as they stand according to Magento:
- Magento Gold Solution Partner: at least 4 Magento certified developers
- Magento Silver Solution Partner: at least 2 Magento certified developers
- Magento Bronze Solution Partner: no Magento certified developers as of yet
So now there are 278 exclusive Magento Solution Partners listed on www.magentocommerce.com, a sharp drop compared to the 380+ that used to be explicitly listed as Magento Solution Partners. The 100+ solution partners removed from the site are still considered Magento Solution Partners, but they lack the distinct advantage of showing up on Magento’s site itself, which acts as the principal listing of Magento Solution Partners available.
Magento is sure to fine-tune these requirements as time goes on to maintain and improve their standards of what Magento Gold Solution Partner, Magento Silver Solution Partner, and Magento Bronze Solution Partner certification means.
